4-Week Athlete Performance Program

This is a 4-week instructional program, where I will be teaching your athlete the importance of nutrition and lifestyle factors that enhance athletic performance.

  • This program consists of weekly sessions lasting 30-45 minutes and provides the opportunity for both the parent and athlete to ask specific questions about nutrition, training, and lifestyle factors that affect athletic performance.

  • During these 4-weeks, you’ll also have unlimited access to me outside of our weekly sessions for quick questions via email or text.

    • What food to order at a restaurant?

    • What protein bar to choose at the grocery store?

    • What should I eat before practice today?

    • etc.

Program Breakdown

Week 1 - Goal Setting

  • Development of short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals

  • Ensure your goals are aligned, meaning your short-term goals will help you achieve your mid-term goals, and your mid-term goals will help you achieve your long-term goals.

Week 2 - Nutrition, Hydration, and Lifestyle Factors that Affect Performance

  • Learn about the concept of “Energy Balance” - how food and fluid intake affects energy levels

  • Develop a night time routine for better recovery

  • How to prepare the night before - pack your bag, prepare your breakfast and lunch, write out your schedule for the day

Week 3 - Building Performance Plates

  • Learn how to properly fuel based on activity levels and the sport you do

    • high endurance swimming, running, cycling, and rowing requires different fueling than football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc. where shorts bursts of energy over sustained periods of time are required

  • Learn about how total calories and the individual macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats) affect your performance

  • What should be on your plate and in what quantity

Week 4 - Nutrient Timing & Overview of Supplementation

  • Are you eating before, during, and after your practice or games?

  • What are you eating at these times?

  • How much are you eating?

  • How can we find ways to improve your energy levels, recovery, and overall performance

  • Overview of sports supplements

    • Energy Bars / Gels

    • Protein Bars / Protein Powders

    • Creatine

    • Multi-Vitamins

    • Pre-Workout

    • etc.
